Blueprint

BluePrint: One

Blueprint is an interactive digital artwork by Karen Jerzyk, built from her original photographs and transformed into a navigable visual world. Rather than presenting photography as a fixed image, the piece invites the viewer to enter the photograph itself — clicking into different areas to zoom, drift, and temporarily inhabit the details of the composition. Each interaction creates a subtle shift in experience. Clicking near the center pulls the viewer deeper into the image, while clicking toward the edges creates a shallower, more gliding movement. A double click acts as a rewind, returning the viewer to the original view. Sound and motion respond to the act of exploration, giving the work a haunted, cinematic atmosphere. The title Blueprint speaks to both construction and memory: the underlying architecture of an image, the emotional map of a place, and the way Jerzyk’s photographs often feel like fragments of worlds that already existed before we arrived. In this interactive form, the photograph becomes more than a document or finished frame — it becomes a portal, a structure, and a place to move through. Rooted in Jerzyk’s handmade photographic practice, Blueprint expands her physical worlds into a living digital space. The piece preserves the atmosphere of her original image while allowing the viewer to choose where to look, where to enter, and how close they dare to get.
