I’ve heard it said that a person who reads a few books becomes eager to speak, but someone who has read hundreds of books eventually falls silent.
Knowledge places a tremendous weight upon us. The more we begin to understand the vastness of what lies beyond us, the smaller we feel. We shrink before it. We become humbled by it, until, sometimes, there is nothing left to say.
In this world, a lifetime is no longer than the blink of an eye, and yet the universe is ancient beyond comprehension. There is so much to hear. So much to see. So much to know.
