A sinner on the threshold of the Last Judgment
Saint Macarius of Egypt says that what we acquired in our souls during our earthly life will manifest in our bodies when we are resurrected. And here, great joy and hope in God's mercy is given to us by the fact that God Himself became man and bore our infirmities. That is, He knows our weaknesses.
We will be judged not by one infinitely distant from this world, but by one who has entered this world and knows all our infirmities and sorrows. And it is He, the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, who bore our infirmities, who will be the King of the Day of Judgment. For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son.
And as Saint Isaac the Syrian says, God's judgment will not be just, but merciful. He says:
"Never call God just. If He were just, you would have been in hell long ago." Rely only on His injustice, in which there is mercy, love and forgiveness."
