I'm Scared
This creature is not a monster. It is a person folded into themselves, searching for a place where fear cannot reach. The pink shell is the last memory of safety. The golden pieces inside are fragments of home—warm memories that survive beneath the sound of sirens and falling walls.
The tangled lines escaping its mouth are the words that never found a voice, swallowed by explosions and silence.
It keeps repeating only one sentence:
**"I'm scared."**
Not of the dark,
but of the next siren.
Of the phone call that may never come.
Of the home that may no longer exist.
Of a tomorrow that may never arrive.
Yet it remains standing.
Cracked. Wounded. Silent.
Its heart still beats.
Because sometimes courage is not the absence of fear.
**Sometimes courage is simply surviving another day while carrying fear inside you.**
