Julius Caesar was a Roman general and statesman who lived from 100 to 44 BC. Rose to power during the decline of the Roman Republic. Led campaigns in Gaul, greatly expanding Rome’s borders. Declared dictator for life in 44 BCE. Assassinated on the Ides of March by senators fearing tyranny. His death paved the way for the rise of the Roman Empire. 🦅
