Calle sin Continente
In Ayala’s photograph, devotion lives on a Colombian street — intimate, golden, bound by iron. I carried that same gesture across an ocean and dissolved its surroundings into Korean ink wash, letting the prayer float free of geography.
The nun still prays. The statue still listens. But the street beneath them now belongs to no continent. What remains is the only thing that was ever real: the space between two figures who need each other.
Created for the Calles Insolentes Open Call with One Love Art DAO and Luis Carlos Ayala.
The piece will be exhibited in Miami and Bogotá as part of the Calles Insolentes collaborative drop.
