The Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway extended its racks through West Texas, helping establish the town of Marfa in 1881. This artwork depicts the outline of the Marfa's first train station, a structure that played an important role in the town's early development. Although presented in a vertical orientation, the image is based on the original form and architecture of the historic station. The process of creating this artwork began as a physical abstract painting, which was then digitized in procreate.
