This painting was inspired by a story my mother told me ; my mom believes me to be her mother's reincarnation, I was born with a disease, the same disease her mother died from. My grandma had promised my mother to come back to her as a man before she died... So the moment my mom saw me she believed I was her mother returned to her as a son. The stories of reincarnation are very common where I come from , is it also a believe held in many cultures. This painting contemplates the subject of reincarnation, who really are we, beyond the body , what is the nature of the soul?, is death really the end, or birth the beginning? Is life just a circle of existence, like we walking into different lives, does the concept of male and female exist in the soul? There is so much we would never understand, reincarnation is my attempt on describing the nature of the soul; our race, language, sex , culture are all but covers for our true essence, and the purpose of life is experience, the essence of life is love, to give, to become, to create our own possibilities, to understand our oneness with all that there is...
