Kumbh Mela

The photographs in this collection were taken during the Kumbh Mela, India's most important religious festival and the largest gathering of people on earth. The festival is very valuable for all Hindus and especially for Naga Sadhus. They believe that they find purification and redemption from their past sins by taking holy baths in Sangam, where 2 sacred rivers are confluent. Throughout the festival, the pride and gratitude they experienced with deep conviction can be seen on their faces.
