Title: August 28th - 16:07 Medium: Super-8 film Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Resolution: 2880 x 2160 File Type: H.264 Codec / MP4. Comments: Brody was like Willy Wonka for Burning Man and gave us the golden tickets to party, park, and make art. I met her at the Burner HQ in the center camp to pick up my "press" pass. She was parked in her Burned out golf cart that she brings back every year without a single round of golf played in the blaze. Brody gave me whirl around the camp in the cab before it was time for her to go back to work, or shall I say, play. It was time to make the first portrait on the Playa! Brody circled around me in the cart like the second hand moving around the center on a clock. Moving fast and tracking her pass, hoping the zoom was right and the focus was tight. You never know if the film will develop or if the camera will work. With a bit of faith everything tends to work out as it should. A picture that depicts the experience perfectly. The days bled together when you start to be offline and leave the phone and time behind. The only way to know its the new day is to watch the moon leave and for the sun to arrive. The only sense of time is the camps and roads are laid out in half the size of a clock. The other half is the open desert where the art is waiting for you. The music never stops and it's up to you to choose when to sleep and when to ride. Wether it be during the light of day or dark in night, the choice is yours. Choose your own adventure. Aligned with your friends or take a bike and disappear for a while. Those who you are supposed to meet will find you here. Legend says if you think about ice cream or drinking tea, you'll cross paths with someone who wants to serve you a cone or lend you a cup. But its not what you can get. its what about what you can give and receive. A form of reciprocity. Every where I went and everyone I met I gifted Polaroids as a sacred offering. To strangers I will never meet again. Honestly, I don't even remember anything else that happened on this day other than shooting with Brody and picking up the press pass. Then got lost in the sand on the bike loosing pounds that I gained on the road across America. The present was too persistent that nothing else exists outside of what was made. The week went on like this for the rest of the days. Some memories are the illusion of a hallucination, and what remains true is the moments that can't be remembered.
