SLOWNESS: In the Heart of Time
Slowness, in the Heart of Time...
A Narrative of Silence, Texture, and Presence
It was only supposed to be a guest in my home for a few days;
a small snail that gradually became a partner in my daily life.
From bathing it and bringing fresh carrots, to staring for hours at its stubbornness over a piece of carrot that it refused to let go of.
In a world moving at a dizzying speed, where the hustle and bustle took away my opportunity to pause, it forced me to look more slowly.
Slowness was born from this very contemplation;
a close encounter with a creature for whom time holds a different meaning. A creature that moves quietly and silently, changing the rhythm of the world around it without saying a word.
These photographs are an effort to capture simple moments we usually pass by: the bare texture of skin, the tranquil path of movement, the silence of a home, and a tiny presence that suddenly brings everything to a halt.
Perhaps slowness is nothing other than this:
an opportunity to see what remains unseen in the rush of life.
