A Body: Passionate about soccer and carnival, he grew up in a close relationship with one of the biggest Rio de Janeiro slums. Even though he lived down in the neighborhood, many of his friends were in the favelas, where he’d go to party, have some fun and hang out unbeknownst to his parents. At the age of 18, he landed his first internship in electronics, but quit after 2 years due to workplace harassment. Back then he thought it was nothing but unjustified bullying, but today he sees it was clearly racism. In 2007, recently graduated in Engineering, met his future wife. They had just started the relationship when she got pregnant for the first time, but a miscarriage ended the pregnancy in the first weeks. She’d get pregnant another 3 times. The second was aborted, the third was born prematurely and unfortunately only lived for a week. Several years later, when they had accepted the life without kids, another pregnancy came, unplanned, giving them a perfect little girl, today with 6 years old. The couple would break up in 2019, going through a complicated divorce with a kid involved during the pandemic. Because of the rupture, new logistics and the concern about how his daughter would take the changes, he took three years to date again. Six months into the new relationship, he’s 100% sure it’s love.
