Combining spoken-word poetry, performance and photography, Lo justo adds to the corpus of Caballero’s ongoing Literal Litoral series of micro poetic films, via which she explores how body language ties into spoken language. Caballero’s raw performances are rooted in her spoken-word history and in poetry’s tradition of orality. These works are the result of a close, intentional listening to the body. In these multifaceted renditions of self, she speaks her poems through movement, using physicality to express the underlying currents of emotion in her verse, inventing a new visual language in the process. Lo justo is a poem from Caballero's artist book Ropa sucia (The Wash), released in partnership with S/W Ediciones. It is the first choreographic work Caballero presents in Spanish.
