The uNDR
Ichthys subducta var. sanguis — “blood variant”
Following initial traversal of the aperture designated Portal A, we recovered the first viable biological specimen native to the region now termed The uNDR by Directorate oversight. Ichthys subducta var. sanguis exhibits a circulatory system capable of maintaining hemofluid pressure without an identifiable cardiac origin. The vascular conduits pulse at irregular intervals that fail to match any known metabolic rhythm.
While the team attributes the oscillation to residual mechanical activity within its synthetic vasculature, I am less convinced. Direct contact with the organism reveals a low-frequency resonance that appears…responsive. Almost patterned. I have noted this for further review.
Fatigue from the portal transit may be distorting perception. The others insist they do not sense it.
