SOHO ~ The Return : Panel III
Panel III of the cinematic poetry triptych "SOHO ~ The Return" by Laurence Fuller
The stones beneath his feet remembered him,
Until they found him and the creations he had been making,
In their destain, their anguish and their horror,
What he had unleashed,
The vast expanse of secrets of man in endless waves,
And to ride them all the way, like a tsunami to destiny.
To see with the eye of a God,
To speak with the tongue of a rebel,
To invent with the mind of an oracle,
To feel with the heart of a poet,
Let the God’s hurl with their thunderbolts and strike the ground before his feet,
Let them strike down upon his shoulders with mallets and sleet,
Though his bow awaits his return,
With a shuddering fire and gold,
Which lights the shadows black,
Its’ arrows are drawn back,
Not to pierce the canvas but the axe.
And if they pry it from him,
He will be not of this earth,
And his wonder will be as awestruck as the realm they curse.
And IF prodigy is born of torment,
They have strung the bow with their last great act,
And handed it to him to unleash his wrath,
Each awesome arrow that strikes like a thunderbolt from beyond,
Thwack, thwack, thwack!
THEM ~ For this where have you been?
I ~ That I have been in the dell,
The wandering embers of that shuddering bell,
I have walked around the groves at the outskirts of the city,
Sand and wash my feet at last was the beach I found,
The sordid cusp of street life did muck about my heels,
As I stepped and clasped my way out of hell,
But tell me now and you know who put me there?
THEM ~ It was your father scorched and bare, the double binds he lay did not want an ending, nor for you to find too sure footing before your time ascending,
I ~ And where’d this wonderer want me to his bidding?
THEM ~ To wake up from this dream you have been living.
I ~ And to where should I wake, when the window’s broken?
THEM ~ Home.
I ~ Then I knew it was true, why the rainstorms did gather through ~ for I am lightening.
