SOHO ~ The Return : Panel I
Panel I of the cinematic poetry triptych "SOHO ~ The Return" by Laurence Fuller
Did you see a traveler pass by here?
Not too long ago?
He strode upon a donkey, and wore a cloak,
He muttered poetry;
Not of his own, but words I’d heard before,
Words of redemption, poetic lore.
I know I’d seen him once before
What was he doing?
Striding horse.
I’d seen him in the parlours years before,
A boudoir or two, he’d frequent many more,
Left letters with poetry to all the sirens calling his name,
From the shore.
He walked through a hall of mirrors,
Each with his name.
Each looked exactly the same,
like him.
They told him to go outside,
Where they would show on screens,
A theatre of his life.
On the cave wall,
The street ~
The projections all the same.
Put beauty behind windows looking out to the rain,
Like a kaleidoscope of memories,
Untouchable fragments,
A cinema of dreams.
He galloped down the far reaching coast on a broken donkey,
And it was a letter that he held.
