A strange, artificial garden unfolds against a deep red backdrop: oversized flowers, trees and floating clouds. The naive, almost childlike way the flowers are illustrated creates the feeling of an illustration or a set from a strange fairy tale — simple, bright and slightly absurd. Sometimes we play our roles for so long and become so accustomed to the world we have created around us that we end up getting lost among the scenery ourselves. The work plays with Shakespeare’s idea of life as theatre — where the world itself becomes the stage, and we move through it playing our parts.
