The Root of Evil

The Root of Evil is a contemporary triptych exploring the relationship between money, morality, silence, and power in modern society. Inspired by the proverb "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil," the series reinterprets these gestures not as innocence, but as deliberate acts of complicity shaped by the influence of wealth. Across the three works, currency becomes both object and obstruction, covering the eyes, interrupting hearing, and silencing speech. The series examines how financial desire reshapes perception, suppresses truth, and transforms silence into participation.
