On my family's first trip to Mount Rainier National Park... we never actually saw Mount Rainier until it filled the rearview mirror on our way home. While the rain, fog, and clouds were an unwelcome disappointment, this photograph in particular became one of my all-time favorites. It was also taken on medium format slide film, and holding it up to the light transports me back to this misty (and almost mystical!) trail.
