Only a few months after photographing "Western Window Painting," I encountered and photographed this scene—only recognizing its potential connection to the earlier photo after I'd edited it. Together, the two photos (taken miles and months apart) make a compelling thematic pair, deifying through art both the cowboy and the native peoples of the American West.
