Baby Gruta
Name: Gruta
Type: Nature / Spirit
Height: 0.5 m
Weight: 9 kg
Habitat:
Gruta is commonly found in tropical coastlines, hidden mangroves, and ancient jungle regions near warm beaches. It prefers humid environments rich in sunlight and saltwater breeze. Researchers believe its species may share an ancestral connection with legendary arboreal guardians mentioned in old cosmic folklore, beings known for communicating through emotion rather than words.
Description:
Gruta is a newborn plant-based creature born from the mysterious coconut-like egg discovered on a Caribbean shore. Its body resembles living wood intertwined with soft tropical fibers, while small palm leaves sprout from its head like natural hair. Despite its tiny size, its large expressive eyes radiate unusual intelligence and innocence.
Its body is flexible and capable of slow regeneration, allowing damaged bark-like skin to repair itself naturally over time. The grooves along its torso resemble the rings of ancient trees, suggesting that its species carries inherited memories within its wooden structure.
Although adorable and harmless in appearance, Gruta possesses a strange sensitivity to emotional energy. When surrounded by kindness, tiny flowers bloom briefly across its body. In hostile environments, however, its wooden skin hardens instantly like protective bark.
Behavior:
Gruta is curious, peaceful, and deeply attached to living beings that show it affection. It often mimics movements and sounds from creatures around it, trying to communicate despite not fully understanding language. It enjoys sunlight, ocean mist, and burying its feet in warm soil for long periods to absorb nutrients directly from the earth.
Scientists observed that Gruta becomes distressed when separated from nature for too long. In laboratory environments, it instinctively attempts to grow vines or roots toward any nearby source of natural light.
Fun Fact:
During the night, Gruta emits a faint emerald glow from inside the cracks of its wooden body. Some researchers believe this light is not simple bioluminescence, but a form of ancient energy tied to primordial forests and forgotten celestial ecosystems
