Through this realism, Roman sculpture gave a face to power, transforming abstract authority into tangible likeness. This piece recalls polished marble, laurel crowns, and the detailed folds of the toga, with subtle cracks and patina evoking antiquity. By replacing the emperor’s visage with Pepe’s, the work generates a humorous dissonance: a meme-born icon assuming the gravity of Roman statehood.
