Artitude

My Life at 16

I sat for hours in my rehab room. Sketching this drawing and creating the escape from the walls I was confined to. The staff allowed me into the padded room, to relieve the frustrations I had that afternoon. A number 2 pencil and paper white like the moon. They helped me more than therapy and the drugs I consumed. Peace finally came through art in the rehab room. This artwork has made it through the birth of my son, Malachi, 2 divorces, 6 suicide attempts, and my journey through sobriety. The person who decided to purchase this digital version of my artwork will have the option to receive the physical art as well. Physical pencil sketch from 2/18/1997 Created when I was in a drug rehabilitation center named “The Pavilion” in Champaign, Illinois 11 x 17 inches
