Flock
Eight wires stretched across an empty sky.
Nothing yet, only the hush before arrival.
Then one bird comes.
Then another.
No one sits higher.
No one sits alone.
It costs nothing to come,
because belonging never should.
Every bird that lands
becomes part of the same evening sky.
However many of us arrive,
this is what we made together.
You were here.
