Los Angeles is known for being where dreams are made, and for me, it’s where my dreams came true. I’ve thought about the day my photography would be featured in an exhibition, and on March 4, 2022…it happened! As the plane was taking off to go back to Chicago, I looked out the window and had a feeling of nostalgia. Seeing this view brought me back to taking the photograph that was featured: “Above Paradise”, which was taken in Australia from a scenic flight over The Great Barrier Reef. It was then that I realized photography was more than just a hobby for me. I conquered my fears to pursue my photography passion, and I never looked back. On March 4th, when I walked into Superchief Gallery LA and saw my photograph in the exhibition for the very first time, I felt a rush of emotions bringing me back to that day. I’ve had some special memories in LA, but nothing could top this. As we started taking off, I had the biggest smile on my face. I was so grateful for this opportunity knowing this was going to be the first of many exhibitions in the future. I took out my grandfather’s Polaroid camera, clicked the shutter, and waited for it to develop. I wanted to capture this full-circle moment and hold onto this feeling forever.
