Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti, known professionally as Dalida, was born in Egypt in 1933 and was an Italian-French singer and actress. She began her music career at 17 and had a successful music and acting career. Dalida could sing eleven languages and sold millions of records internationally, with her music charting in many North American, Asia, Europe, and Latin America countries. Her partner committed suicide, and this deeply disturbed her suffering bouts of depression leading to her suicide. On May 3, 1987, Dalida committed suicide by overdosing on barbiturates. 🆘
