i win.
i brought these three paintings together because something inside me felt they belonged to the same story.
in Portrait of Johannes Wtenbogaert, i see a man carrying the weight of his beliefs and everything life has taught him. in Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette, i see what remains when life begins to fade, a final flame burning against the certainty of an ending. and in Almond Blossoms, i find what comes after: the quiet beauty of beginning again.
to me, they speak of a life spent holding on, a moment of realizing when to let go, and the courage to find beauty beyond the pain.
because stopping doesn't always mean defeat. sometimes, it means choosing peace over a battle that no longer needs to be fought.
and even when that choice hurts, something new can still bloom from it, soft and fragrant as almond blossoms.
