THE ENFORCER (Open Ribcage)
Scene 1: Introduction.
THE ENFORCER (Open Ribcage)
You can see right through him.
That's not a wound. That's the point.
He was the one they sent when the numbers didn't work and the suits didn't scare you anymore. No gun. He didn't need one. He would just open his jacket, and you would see what was left of the last guy who said no.
In life, his chest was closed. He kept everything in. All the hits, all the bodies, all the nights he couldn't sleep. It built up like pressure.
When he died, he took three bullets that should have killed a regular man, it finally blew open. Ribs splayed like a cage with the door busted off.
Now in the afterlife, he doesn't have to hide it. You can see straight through to the other side of the room. There's nothing inside but smoke and the faint glow of that candle reflecting off gold.
His briefcase is the messiest. Gold thrown in, jewels tangled, some spilling over. He was never good at counting. He was good at collecting.
He's the only one who laughs at the table. No sound, just shoulders shaking, teeth clacking. Because he gets the joke now.
He spent his whole life making sure no one could get to their heart.
And he was the one who never had one to protect.
The Boss gives the order.
The Banker makes it legal.
The Enforcer makes sure you feel it in your chest.
And his chest? Still open. Still empty. Still waiting to be filled with something that isn't gold tonight.
