Originally minted on the OpenSea shared contract alongside the publication of my photo book, "WENDOVER" in October 2021, this collection was migrated to a smart contract in March of 2023. "I feel like this particular image is one of the best at encapsulating the overarching theme of "WENDOVER." On the other side of a fence in poor repair lies a fading neon casino sign. Once proudly displayed along the road to travelers passing by, the sign is now left to crumble and fade, replaced by something brighter and shinier. The sign, representative of the casino lifestyle in general, is on the "other side of the fence," just as the casinos are on the other side of the Utah-Nevada border. This "other side" isn't as bright and flashy as it used to appear. On this side of the fence, however, is where life is lived. The building to the left of the photo is a part of an apartment complex, whose backyards overlook the waste of casino culture. In a way, the waste and the glitz are one and the same."
