RESIDUAL
RESIDUAL is about what’s left behind.
I wanted the piece to feel like a signal that has been pushed, distorted, and partially lost — where you can still see something underneath it, but you can’t completely make it out.
The noise and fragmented forms create this feeling of something breaking down while still holding onto its original shape.
The piece is a composite of 48 individually created GIFs. Those images were layered together into another GIF, and that process was repeated several times, each generation altering what came before it. The final image is the residue of all those layers and transformations.
It’s the residue of an image, a memory, or a signal after it’s been altered.
One of one.
