The Living Intersection of Delft

Created for the Rijksmuseum AI Remix Open Call (2026), The Living Intersection of Delft brings together three distinct visions of the Dutch Golden Age into a single impossible moment. The architectural framework originates from Vermeer's The Little Street, providing a quiet and intimate setting. Into that stillness enters the militia company from Rembrandt's The Night Watch, introducing movement, presence, and collective energy. Above them, the dramatic skies and windmill from Ruisdael's The Windmill at Wijk bij Duurstede reshape the atmosphere, transforming the scene into one charged with anticipation and change. These elements, originally separated by subject, mood, and intention, are united through AI-assisted image generation and further developed with mixed-media interventions that blend classical painterly aesthetics with contemporary digital textures. The result is a place that never existed in Dutch art history, yet feels as though it always belonged there.
