“Freedom is a Stretch” is part of Black Hippies, an unseen Afro-surrealist post-photography series imagining an alternate history where Black counterculture was never on the margins. The elongated neck becomes a symbol of resilience, curiosity, and the impossible distance between memory and freedom. Created years ago but never shared, this work marks an early chapter in my ongoing exploration of speculative Black archives.
