‘Sugar Coated lies”
‘Chocolate requiem’
I run from my worries with chocolate so rich,
Velvet-sweet squares that melt on my lips.
Sugar hugs me tight when the bad days hit hard,
One bite, two bites—oh, it tastes like a star!
But the crash comes fast and my heart feels so blue,
So I lace up my shoes and step into the blue.
I breathe in the fresh air, I stretch, I move slow,
Sweat on my skin like a warm, healthy glow.
No more hiding in sweets, come walk with me, friend,
Laugh loud, eat real fruit, let the good feelings mend.
You’re stronger than sugar, brighter than candy’s glow—
Choose you every day, and watch your true light show!
The poem playfully admits we escape stress with rich, melting chocolate and sweet sugar hugs, but shows how they lead to a crash. It then encourages choosing healthy joys like walking, breathing fresh air, stretching, and real fruit—proving you’re stronger than sugar and can shine brighter.
I’ve created this work using ai animation. I’ve merged Baroque drama and ornate flow (like the chocolate fountain and drapery), Rococo whimsy, Surrealism’s dreamlike dislocation (à la Dalí), and Northern Renaissance meticulous detail in natural elements.
