A country does not collapse in a single night. It slowly falls apart when power is valued more than human lives. When those in power build their ambitions upon suffering, what remains is not merely the ruins of buildings, but homes that have lost their inhabitants, families that have lost their future, and children growing up among the wreckage of decisions they never made. April 1948 When a home is destroyed, it is not only its walls that collapse. Within the dust lie memories, families, and pieces of lives that are lost with it. “The Stories That Remain” Inside a dark and ruined space, a woman stands with two young children, gazing at the paintings that cover the walls. Each frame holds a fragment of Palestine’s story—the wounded cities, families forced to keep moving, children growing up amid destruction, homes that have become memories, and lives struggling to endure. The golden light falling between them becomes a small symbol of hope within the darkness. Meanwhile, the deep blue and black tones that dominate the room represent grief, loss, and memories that cannot easily be forgotten. This artwork is not merely a depiction of destruction. It speaks about the human beings behind every event. About families, children, homes, memories, and lives that continue to carry stories even when the world around them has changed. Each painting on the wall is like a page from history—some cracked, some almost faded, but all still carrying a story. Because when a place loses so much, its memories can still live on through art.
