This piece comes from something I actually lived through. It wasn’t made around an idea or a story I came up with. It came from feelings I didn’t really know how to put into words at the time. I remember feeling numb, heavy, and strangely disconnected from everything around me. Drawing this became a way of sitting with that feeling without having to explain it. There is a specific story behind this piece, and every part of it means something to me. But I’d rather leave that story where it is. What you see in it doesn’t have to be what I see. The feeling is mine. The meaning can be yours.
