A phrase which carries a lot of double meaning for me these days, lately tuning out as a form of disengaging with a world on fire, and tuning out with analog music as a way to enjoy the pleasures of song while being digitally disconnected. I have always, and will always, love being digitally connected and sharing my creativity, but one side of me that has always also been true, I am at my creative best when immersed in the blissful privacy of sound and music, entirely mentally separated from the world and in my own little space where imagination can flow. A key practice to maintaining my best mental health, and thus creative health, is knowing the value of being tuned in, and still giving myself time for tuning out too.
