Safe embrace of brother
In the highlands of Talesh, a rural land in Gilan province in northern Iran, life goes on, but it is not easy. Where wild anemones carpet the ground and cattle graze freely, a small but steadfast boy is both shepherd and devoted brother.
He holds his one-year-old sister in his arms, shielding her frail body from the morning chill. His small hands, which should still know how to play, are now a safe haven. Life in these mountains has always been hard, with rainy and foggy days and shivering nights. But the boy, with tired but determined eyes, plants his feet firmly on the ground, leading the herd and protecting his sister with all his might.
This is not just a picture of the Talesh nomads; It is a story of deep love, the story of a child who became a man before his time and a sister who found the full meaning of security in his arms.
