It is easier to accept the atrocities committed on groups when you can convince yourself that they are somehow less human than you. It's a dark & dangerous psychological process that has been used throughout history to justify cruelty. By dehumanizing others—by convincing ourselves they are "less human" or somehow inferior—it becomes easier to turn a blind eye to their suffering and rationalize unimaginable violence. This mindset has been at the core of countless atrocities, where entire groups are painted as undeserving of compassion, dignity, and basic rights. So far, 44% of over 45000 verified victims have been children and 26% women. The ages most represented among the dead were five to nine-year-olds. The fact that 80% of Palestinian victims were killed in residential areas paints an even more devastating picture. These homes, meant to be sanctuaries of safety & love have become their graves. This is not the collateral damage of war—it is ethnic cleansing, a systematic destruction of a people’s lives, their futures, and their humanity. To call it anything less than genocide is to turn a blind eye to the scale of the atrocity. These are not numbers; they are lives, voices silenced forever. A world that allows this to happen must confront its own failure to uphold the basic value of human life. There are no two sides to genocide.
