Atom was rescued from the streets as a tiny kitten, injured from an attack by an older cat. When I began looking for cats to adopt, I saw a video someone had posted of a cat playing fetch. I immediately fell in love. When I met him for the first time, he greeted me with a cute head butt. He has always loved human company & his gentleness has changed hearts of many who didn't like cats. Since I adopted him, my life has profoundly changed. I have never experienced love purer than this From the first year or so of feeling rejected & frustrated because he was being his autonomous feline self, to learning to just appreciate his presence & wanting nothing but happiness for him regardless of what I get in return. Loving him taught me how to love in general. There of those who think, "it's just a cat, you can get another one" don't understand that every single cat has a different personality, just like humans. And just like humans, you can't replace them with another one. There will never be another Atom.
