This is an unstaged photograph. I noticed that lady while boarding, holding this bouquet. Whenever I'm on this type of ferry, I always head straight for the upper deck. It was a cold day, so hardly anyone was up there. She came up shortly after I did, and within five minutes, everyone else had headed inside, leaving just the two of us. She looked lost in thought, and I couldn't help but wonder where she was going with those flowers. After a little while, she set the bouquet down on the bench and walked away. I took the photo, assuming they'd been abandoned. But a few minutes later, she came back, picked them up, and left. She probably changed her mind about something. She’s still a mystery to me, and I’m still curious about how the rest of her day turned out.
