Shape Shifter: Raven
I use ravens as metaphors for feminine energy and as symbols for the women in my world. Feminine energy is rarely fixed; it pivots constantly. Like the raven—known as the shape-shifter—the women around me shift form to meet the continuous demands placed on them. In each work, this energy takes a different role: warrior, messenger, escort of spirits, the link between worlds, mystic, the dark feminine, protector, mother, healer, keeper of knowledge, shaman.
At first glance the paintings can appear chaotic, a surface that mirrors the noise of my own mind. Look closer, move through the layers, and a shared narrative emerges. Deeper symbols surface—rooted in tradition, culture, and the things we treat as taboo. Whether you connect with them is up to you.
Peel the layers further and you meet what is actually there. You face the fear. Sometimes you find something of yourself inside it.
