Glitch Herbarium
Sometimes I feel like plants were the first to adapt to digital reality.
I look at leaves and see them breaking into pixels, as if they never existed in the physical world. As if someone failed to properly load the textures of life.
This herbarium tries to become digitized, but doesn’t fully understand the rules.
Stems duplicate, flowers loop endlessly, roots don’t reach into the soil - they disappear into emptiness, into an infinite scroll.
And I’m not sure whether these plants are alive, or just a simulation of how we remember what it means to “live”.
Maybe this digital environment is just another layer of biology.
Or maybe biology was the first version of the internet.
I like to think that these glitches are not errors, but attempts of the system to grow something new.
Something that doesn’t need to be real to exist.
