Ancient Myths

Persephone

The Harvest of Persephone Perhaps the Earth surrendered its gold to her touch, or perhaps she is the very pulse that makes the fields breathe. Either way, the horizon was captured by her silence. This is my narrative of the cycle between life and the soil. I am in love with the moment nature recognizes itself in a human form. The Myth of Demeter & Persephone. The crown of wildflowers atop her head, contrasting with the raw abundance of the wheat, shows that when life (Persephone) returns from the shadows, it does not seek to rule, but to belong — symbolized by her nakedness and the act of reaping her own essence from the golden wild.
