Tluwulahu Mask - Tsawatenok
Drawn with Corel Photopaint in 2005 after a photo taken by Edward S. Curtis in 1914.
The Tsawatenoks belong to the big Kwakiutl tribe from the Northwestern Pacific Coast which was famous for their beautiful wood carving.
Tluwulahu is a specific dance of that tribe where Birds are involved.
"The mask shows the loon surmounting the face of the anthropomorphing being into which the bird transforms itself at will" (Ed Curtis).
