Abstract Syntax Typography
Abstract Syntax Typography is a visualization of the space between intention and unpredictability.
When a person formulates a request, they expect a controlled result. But AI in this case is a medium that cannot be fully controlled. On the path from human impulse to machine generation, something happens that escapes planning: the system begins to live by its own logic, introduces its own rules. At this tension point, where control weakens, collaborative authorship is born. A human speaks, the machine responds in an unforeseen way, and from this conflict emerges a third thing: an image that no one fully planned.
Visually, this tension materializes in layers of syntax: colored blocks, code fragments, errors that are not erased.
Paper acts as a tool for capturing an unstable digital process. It transforms the fluid, unpredictable logic of AI into a material trace—an artifact of a specific moment of interaction that can no longer be reproduced in exactly the same way.
