ENGLISH: This piece represents my artistic interpretation of Batman. Batman is often presented as a special superhero among all the other superheroes. Because of the darkness of his universe. A vigilante, stricken at an early age by the cruelty of the city his wealthy parents almost owned. How could he not be scarred for life? So he decides to save this city. Does he love it? Or hates? That he can't get rid of, at least. And that he wants to save. Her and her people. But what about them? Do they want to be? That's the paradox of Batman: fighting every day at the risk of his life for people who don't want to be saved. But at least he acts. Caught between the harshness of his world and the purity of his dream: to see a blue sky rise over a field of flowers in the heart of Gotham City... He acts. He acts. And that's the most important thing, because: "it's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me". FRANÇAIS: Cette pièce représente mon interprétation artistique de Batman. Batman est souvent présenté comme un super-héros particulier au milieu de tous les autres super-héros. De part la noirceur de son univers. Un justicier, frappé au plus jeune âge par la cruauté de la ville que ses richissimes parents possédaient presque. Comment ne pas être marqué à vie ? Alors il décide de sauver cette ville. Qu’il aime ? Ou qu’il déteste ? Dont il ne peut pas se défaire au moins. Et qu’il veut sauver. Elle et ses habitants. Mais eux ? Veulent-ils l’être ? C’est tout le paradoxe de Batman : se battre tous les jours au péril de sa vie pour des gens qui ne veulent pas être sauvé. Mais au moins il agit. Coincé entre le dureté de son monde et la pureté de son rêve: celui de voir un ciel bleu se lever sur un champ de fleur au coeur de Gotham City… Il agit. Il agit. Et c’est le plus important parce que : "it’s not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me".
