SURVEILLANCE

My work explores sleep paralysis, where dream and reality dissolve and shadowy entities emerge from the liminal space of consciousness. Drawing from personal experience, I depict spectral figures that loom and oppress: manifestations of the mind felt as terrifyingly real. These silent surveillants watch from within our dreams and nightmares, metaphors for the hidden fears and subconscious shadows that monitor us in vulnerability. Through surreal imagery, bold forms, and rich textures in mixed media, digital drawing, and collage, I capture the heavy stillness and eerie disorientation of these encounters. The figures emerge from darkness, amorphous yet deliberate, inviting viewers to confront the tension between fear and fascination. This work questions perception, reality, and the psyche. By making the intangible tangible, I invite viewers to linger in discomfort, find beauty in the unsettling, and reflect on the shadows that watch from within.
