Blended faces, 2023-2024
Identity, a core aspect of our existence, is often shrouded in layers of confusion and contradiction. As an artist I love to explore these layers, using my work to question and redefine what it means to be an individual. The masks we wear, both literal and metaphorical, become symbols of the roles we assume, the personas we project, and the identities we conceal.
By digitizing traditional paintings, I try to amplify the tension between authentic self and projected personas. This medium allows me to dive into dynamic alterations, layering, and morphing of faces and masks, reflecting the fluidity of identity.
Fragmented faces and shifting masks illustrate inner conflicts, with elements continuously transforming to reveal hidden layers. The digital canvas can seamlessly blend multiple cultural motifs and modern elements, enhancing the visual representation of identity’s contradictory nature and challenging our understanding of self, illuminating the complexities of human experience.
