Saint Plastic of the High Desert
A white figure with a lit up windowed skull stands above a desert machine town. Copper spheres sit in the corners. In the middle of it all is a glossy green plastic cactus with rounded arms and a red sphere.
A plastic cactus is the joke and the point. Real art, fake cactus. It is a desert symbol made from a factory material, the same way this portrait is a desert scene made from code.
Four original Three.js artworks play in the screens: Genetic Bloom, Glyph Habitat, Chromosome Garden, and Neural Fossil. The cactus was built in code and turns slowly with a pulse of light across its plastic shine. Soft Three.js particles drift through the air like desert dust. Everything was set in place in After Effects. The face, the church, the land, and the foil border stay still.
