Freedom
“Freedom” is a work about how a person’s true aspirations can be suppressed but not destroyed. It’s about that part of us that cannot be broken completely. It’s about an inner strength that may lie dormant for years, but sooner or later finds a way to break through, shattering any barriers in its path.
The shark here is not a predator, but the embodiment of fortitude, will, and true nature. It belongs to the ocean - a space without walls, boundaries, or restrictions. Therefore, the net entangling its body seems alien, as if freedom itself has been encased in iron. Metal cannot withstand the impact of living will.
That's why the moment of liberation is so emotional: the shark isn't searching for a new path - it's returning to its element. In this image, freedom isn't a reward, but a natural state; it doesn't conquer freedom - it remembers it. And this return to its nature is the main meaning of the artwork.
